One of the items brought back for me from New York was the Tarte ‘In Bloom’ Tartlette, something I had been eying for a while. Prior to this I had never used a Tarte product but had heard rave reviews and thought they sounded like a brand I would love. It turns out, I wasn’t mistaken. This is probably my second favourite palette, beaten only by Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Ultra Matte formula, although it’s pretty close.
I much prefer matte eyeshadow and a pet peeve is when only a few token shades are included in a palette. That said, I’m not some kind of glitter hater, far from it, but with all the Naked palettes and countless others, I feel I’ve reached my glitter capacity. Day to day, I’m much more likely to be found wearing mattes and I love how they blend.

The In Bloom Tartlette contains 12 shadows, 9 being matte and 3 shimmers. As far as shimmers go, I absolutely love these. The glitter is quite finely milled so they blend nicely.
All shades are highly pigmented and really nice to work with. I’ve only had this palette for a few months and I’m already almost hitting pan on ‘Smarty Pants’. The shades included are really versitile, you can easily create neutral looks with undertones of brown, pink or terracotta.
The packaging of this palette is the best of any I own. It’s metal with a decent mirror and a great size for traveling.
Of the shimmer shades my favourite is ‘Funny Girl’ which I love to wear as an inner eye highlight.

I can’t get enough of this palette at the moment and am now eagerly spying the other Amazonian Clay palettes, as I love that formula.
Have you tried any other Tarte products you think I should check out?
