When my friend asked for my makeup wishlist for an upcoming trip to New York, I instantly had several products in mind. She kindly picked up an American beauty haul for me from Sephora, which in my opinion doesn’t count as a violation of my self-imposed spending ban, because I didn’t physically do the shopping. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

img_9097-1rsA week after Trump’s election win, the dollar was looking a bit shaky so in addition to avoiding shipping this haul was a bargain. Every cloud.

K is super organised so managed to get my things, her own and requests from others with several baskets and lists in hand. Only one illusive product escaped our grasp, the Master Palette by Mario from Anastasia Beverly Hills which is sold out everywhere.

Anastasia Beverly Hills feature quite heavily, being one of my all time favourite brands. I got the cream contour palette in shade light, the Ultimate Glow Kit and a liquid lipstick in the shade Milkshake.

Because you can never have too many nude liquid lipsticks, I also got Kat Von D’s Everlasting liquid lipstick in the shade Bow & Arrow, which is one I’ve been coveting for ages.

Despite my recent Too Faced disappointment, I got the Love Flush blush in the shade Baby Love. I’ve used this already and really love it so some faith is restored.

Lastly I got a palette I’ve had my eye on from Tarte, a brand I haven’t tried but have heard great things about. I opted for the Tartlette ‘In Bloom’ Amazonian clay palette. It’s always a bit risky, purchasing something without seeing it from a new brand but it paid off because I am living for this palette. I got the Tartlette In Bloom Amazonian clay palette.
