Why is it you can be tired all day but the minute you hit the pillow, night brain decides to kick in and suddenly you’re thinking of all the things? During one of these irritating episodes recently I found myself browsing Twitter -I know, blue light, not promoting sleep etc- and decided to run a little poll to find out what people thought about me posting more lifestyle stuff again. The other sleep deprived Tweeters online at the time voted in favour of this and so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to post an update every once in a while.
1. My life has been taken over by the somewhat pressing matter of arranging a wedding in 9 weeks. With most of the chaos behind us now, plans for our Icelandic adventure are well underway and dare I say it, almost sorted? It feels realer than ever and we’re both getting really excited. I’ve solved my “how do I fly a large intricate cake across the Atlantic” dilemma and we’ve moved onto fun things like redesigning the cake and picking our rings.
2. A few weeks ago I spent the weekend in Paris and loved every second of it. I haven’t got around to putting my photos up on my Exposure page –amy.photos– yet but to summarise: We walked until my feet were blistered, sat in many cafes, ate every macaroon I came into contact with and explored the sights like tourists.
3. I’m getting back on my dieting / healthy / stop eating everything plan after falling ever-so-slightly -ok majorly, see the above photo- off the wagon. It’s not something I write about much but I did really well the year before last and I’ve been kicking myself for letting things slip again. Having got off to a good start, this year I’m still determined to get where I want to be and as cliche as it sounds, getting started is always the hardest bit. It’s not going to happen overnight, but I want to make and stick to healthier life choices to be generally fitter. Send me motivational vibes!
