The living room has to be my favourite room in the house, it is after all where we spend most of our time so I like it to be cosy and perfect for chilling.
As with the other rooms we had the living room replastered and repainted, sticking to the same colour scheme we had previously, light grey and white. The biggest change to this area though was the addition of a log burner, which is by far one of the best things we’ve done during this renovation; It’s so cosy having the fire on in the Winter.
I bought the large lanterns after visiting Norway during the Winter months and seeing them outside homes and shops, twinkling in the otherwise dark Polar night. The wooden ornaments were also from Tromsø, I love how well all my bits and pieces go with the fire and logs.
The logs under the fire are strictly ‘posing’ logs. My posing logs have been set on fire on more than one occassion, I wasn’t happy!
Antlers -resin of course- feature quite heavily. I have antler ornaments dotted around and an antler chandelier, in keeping with the loose kind of Scandi theme.
The fire sits on a slate hearth so there’s a bit of Wales mixed in with the Scandi touches.
Wood burner accessories are ridiculously over priced, but we managed to find this bin and our wicker basket in Ikea. I love lighting and have had these glass orbs hanging over the dining table for a while, although I’ve had to order replacement orbs twice after smashing them with a laptop and hoover, oops!
This star lamp was actually from the Next Christmas collection but I felt it went so well with the new living room, I got it and have it up permanently. When it’s on it projects it’s pattern on the wall, I love having the log burner on with this lamp and cosying up under a blanket in-front of the TV.
