It’s been 6 months since we finished our renovation. I started writing about the work we had done earlier in the year, but stopped short of finishing all the rooms. In all honesty, I had to take some time off from the subject. The renovation took months. And we were still working on it over Christmas! The subsequent cleanup took months too and by the end of it, I was just glad for it to be done. Months later, I’m enjoying the house so much. The plaster dust and mess is a distant memory. Whilst our bedroom was one of the easiest rooms we did -we didn’t plaster or knock anything down- the improvement is dramatic. And it’s one of my favourite spaces in the house.

A New Bed From Made.com
After ordering fabric samples, I took a leap of faith and bought our new bed from Made. It arrived a few weeks later and I was really impressed with the quality. I picked Persian grey -in honour of Sheldon- which went with our existing starry patterned wallpaper. It was bigger than our old bed so takes up most the room but I love the extra space. Underneath is a handy storage area.
Getting a new bed was a nice excuse to get new bedding. I went with Oxford pillows and Egyptian cotton bedding in neutral greys and whites. My throw is from the White Company and so cosy.
Whilst having electrical work done elsewhere, I took the opportunity to add some extra lights to the bedroom. I love Edison bulbs so fell in love with these modern large LED bare bulbs. They hang on either side of the bed.
I love these star lights, which were a housewarming gift. I spotted the LED heart light in Next. It was actually part of their Christmas collection but I knew it would look great with our new bedroom decor.
Cloud Paper Lampshade
These lampshades were hanging in our wedding hotel suite and I loved them. It was an Ikea bargain and I love being reminded of our wedding and Iceland when I see it.
I like to remove my makeup and do my skincare stuff in the bedroom. I love looking at photos of other people’s vanities and how their bottles are arranged. Although I’m afraid mine is pretty boring as I hate clutter! I unceremoniously shove everything in the drawers.
After ordering my bed, I decided to get a stool in the same material from Made to match the bed. I didn’t get a stool with the vanity and finding one the right size has been hard. This stool is really comfy and can be stored under the vanity during the day.
Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
I seriously love this stuff. I spray it on the pillows each night and it really does help you feel sleepy.
One of the best things we did in the entire renovation was replace our mattress. We got a Tempur cloud mattress and it legit is like sleeping on a cloud.
I’m really happy with how our bedroom turned out. It’s got some Scandi inspired touches and a lot of stars but mostly it’s just really peaceful.
