Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

14th March 2016

As part of my little wedding make-up haul last week I also ordered a new foundation I had been lusting after for a while: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I had heard all the right things about it and seen in on the skin in real life and knew it was next on my foundation hit-list.

When my current bottle of YSL Fusion Ink foundation ran out, I ordered nervously. I don’t go through foundations like I do other products, as it’s the base for all my make up it has to be good and when I find a foundation which works for me, I tend to stick to it.

Nowhere in Cardiff stocks Charlotte Tilbury so I had to order online which presented a problem as I wasn’t sure which tone to choose. I agonised over swatches and the official photo charts for a few days before settling on 6 medium which to my amazement is the perfect shade for my skintone, although I think that’s partly testament to how well this product blends.

I found that this foundation works better when applied with a stippling brush and unlike other products it doesn’t require much blending afterwards. I love how it looks on and the coverage it gives, it also seems to hold well when combined with hold spray so I think it will be the ideal foundation for my wedding.

The key thing I look for now in a full coverage foundation is how well I can build on top of it and thankfully this can hold under my various creams and powders.

I’m really happy with this purchase, as with the Anastasia Beverly Hills products I picked up at the same time, this has definitely been worth the hype for me.

I really want to try Magic, has been on my wish list since it came out! BUT, do you know they’re opening a CT in John Lewis in April? 🙂 I think I’ll wait until then and I’ll get colour matched there!

I’m loving it so much, I wore it yesterday and after walking on the beach, cleaning for hours then having a bath it was still on with great coverage, I think it’s the best foundation I’ve ever tried :o. Yes she mentioned that when I went in looking, will be bad for my bank balance ha!

I’m always scared to order foundation online, so lucky for it to be the perfect match! I haven’t tried anything from CT yet, they’re not so budget friendly x

I felt the same but thankfully it worked out well, CT is coming to John Lewis in Cardiff this month so hopefully they’ll be in stores where you live soon if they’re not already <3

Wow, you were so brave to order it without being sure of what shade to take… This foundation seems great! I’m more onto medium coverage foundation so I really want to try the light wonder foundation from CT… Unfortunately, it has never been available in my shade 🙁 CT products are sooo hard to get!
