As part of my little wedding make-up haul last week I also ordered a new foundation I had been lusting after for a while: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I had heard all the right things about it and seen in on the skin in real life and knew it was next on my foundation hit-list.
When my current bottle of YSL Fusion Ink foundation ran out, I ordered nervously. I don’t go through foundations like I do other products, as it’s the base for all my make up it has to be good and when I find a foundation which works for me, I tend to stick to it.

Nowhere in Cardiff stocks Charlotte Tilbury so I had to order online which presented a problem as I wasn’t sure which tone to choose. I agonised over swatches and the official photo charts for a few days before settling on 6 medium which to my amazement is the perfect shade for my skintone, although I think that’s partly testament to how well this product blends.
I found that this foundation works better when applied with a stippling brush and unlike other products it doesn’t require much blending afterwards. I love how it looks on and the coverage it gives, it also seems to hold well when combined with hold spray so I think it will be the ideal foundation for my wedding.
The key thing I look for now in a full coverage foundation is how well I can build on top of it and thankfully this can hold under my various creams and powders.
I’m really happy with this purchase, as with the Anastasia Beverly Hills products I picked up at the same time, this has definitely been worth the hype for me.
