My current go-to primer is the Bobbi Brown Face Base. A product which had sat on my wishlist for months. I loved the sound of this primer and had read numerous great reviews. However at £42 it’s more expensive than my normal primer and I was wary.
After much deliberating, I decided I would snag it in duty free. Using a voucher and the tax deduction I saved over £10. Woohoo!
One of my favourite primers is the MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance. I like the consistency and dewy appearance it adds to the skin. Although admittedly that glow is lost as soon as I apply my foundation when using medium to full coverage. Whilst I notice an improvement in the longevity of my makeup, it’s far from full-proof.
Bobbi Brown Face Base – Vitamin Enriched
I purchased the Bobbi Brown Face Base in the hope it would help my makeup last longer. Whilst not drying out or upsetting the balance of my skin.
The Bobbi Brown Face Base is made with shea butter and enriched with vitamins C and E. It has a distinctive scent I love.
I apply a pea sized amount with my finger. It has a really thick consistency meaning a little goes a long way. On application I notice this product makes the skin look strange. My skin appears red and oily, not exactly what I was going for!
For that reason, this primer isn’t one I would wear without makeup. Although it feels lovely on contact with skin and smells divine. Thankfully I didn’t buy it to wear alone, so this isn’t an issue for me.
I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown Face Base for over a month now and have been consistently impressed with the results. My makeup doesn’t shift! And I notice my skin looks hydrated and bright.
Furthermore after all this use, I’ve barely made a dent in the jar. My initial worries about the cost of this primer VS the amount of product were unwarranted.
This is a primer I know I’ll be repurchasing.
