In the 18 months I’ve been blogging, I’ve loved being a part of the community and have made some great friends through it. Recently I was approached by the lovely Sophie from I Just Love It -an online retailer specialising in personalised gifts- and asked if I would like to partake in their #IJustLoveIt gift exchange campaign, which gives pairs of bloggers an opportunity to surprise each other with the personalised gifts of their choice. I knew instantly who I wanted to do it with, Rachel a lifestyle blogger from Northern Ireland, who’s blog I read every week and who I’ve got to know well since we met through blogging.
I set about trawling through the site in search of the perfect gifts for Rachel. We were set a generous £75 budget and I decided I would opt for one ‘main’ gift and some smaller ones so she had a few things to unwrap. The I Just Love It website contains so much choice, I had a harder job decided what to not get Rachel than finding the right gift. Gifts are organised by recipient, occassion and budget which makes filtering through the hundreds of products far easier.
I felt quite nervous with my gift selection but thankfully I think Rachel liked them, you can read more about what I got her in her blog post.
Shipping from the website was fast and my presents from Rachel arrived securely packaged which was great as some of them were fragile.
Rachel did an amazing job of picking my gifts and I was so touched by the thought behind them all.
The first gift I opened was one for the home, a monogram light-up ornament in my initial A. I love monogram stuff and as mine and Aaron’s initials are the same, I’ve dotted them around the house in a few places. I’m also a sucker for fairy lights of any kind so this is right up my street.
One of my gifts was a candle which shows Rachel knows me well because I seem to have some candle buying illness where I am seemingly unable to stop purchasing them. I got this pretty vintage candle in a tea cup which is so lovely and shabby chic.
I also got this adorable Peter Rabbit mug which is really special. As I love hedgehogs and used to rescue wild European ones -another story for another day- my Nan got me a Mrs Tiggy Winkle collectable mug which means a lot to me. This personalised mug features my name on the side and accompanies it perfectly. I love that it also represents a hobby in my life which got out of hand -blogging- although thankfully this one doesn’t involve cleaning up poo.
Something I’ve discussed with Rachel is the fact I don’t make enough time to do creative stuff offline. She picked out a personalised colouring book for me which I absolutely love. On closer inspection my name is printed throughout on the pages, hidden amongst the drawings. I’m definitely going to make time to do some colouring with this as it’s so relaxing. I also included a colouring book for Rachel, great minds!
I also got a pretty personalised notebook which is really the perfect gift for any blogger. I work from home and my desk is covered in scraps of paper with my notes on. This is going to live on my desk so I can keep all my work / blogging / life notes in one handy place and say goodbye to my scrap paper mountain.
Saving the best until last, my favourite gift of all was this bauble which reads ‘First Married Christmas’. On the other side Rachel wrote: “Here’s to all the happy Christmases to come”. We were both really touched by this and after it’s finished hanging proudly on the tree, it’ll be going in my wedding memory box to be kept forever.
I want to say a huge thank you to Sophie and I Just Love It for inviting us to take part and to Rachel for making me smile, this package came when I was back and forth from hospital and it really cheered me up.
If you’re looking for a personalised gift for any occassion, I recommend checking out I Just Love It, with so many products there really is something for everyone.
